My 3yo daughter loves audio books. She’s grown up without television in the house, so books in general, and audio books in particular are very much her ‘thing’.
A fair amount of her audio book diet is a bit ho-hum to the adult ear; you can only listen to the tale of Rumpelstiltskin so many times.
But sometimes there’s a little gem like today’s passage from Riki Tiki by Rudyard Kipling:
“It’s the hardest thing in the world to frighten a mongoose, because he’s eaten up from nose to tail by curiosity. The motto of the mongoose family is run and find out.”
Mongoose, I’m your latest fan.
